Message This is just an update for those who have been following the Z from Japan engine build up. After talking to the owner and the shop that built the fastest 300Z in Japan and hearing them proclaim the shim type lifter as the baddest thing since cookie dough ice cream, I think I am going to order them for my currently-being-built engine. I suspect that they will cost around $1000-$1500. What they will do is give me roughly an extra 1000rpm of usable hp. With the current head mods that will push the redline to 9000rpm. I don't have the money for it right now but I feel that I NEED THIS OR I'LL DIE! Will someone tell me that I am not crazy?

On another subject I have been studying how to tune the eprom chip in the ecu. Fortunately one of the top tuning shops in Japan is very close by and has been strangely helpful in teaching me. They showed me how to accurately change the rev, top speed and boost limiters. They showed me the timing and air/fuel maps and what the values equated to. However when I asked specific questions about tuning them they said, "We can't tell you all the secrets". In any event I am very happy and grateful with what I learned. I think if I can practice on a few cars then I'll be able to master the timing and fuel maps. I just need a few guinea pigs..... he he he...

And on a side note I saw the coolest boost guage IMHO. It goes in place of the stock boost guage, looks stock, but it registers to 1.45 bar (21psi). I think I'll be able to add this to my list of parts for sale. I will definately have one on my car. I really despise mounted guages so this is a nice alternative. Hopefully my car when finished will look stock interior wise.

My job has moved me to a new base and hence have lost my personal internet connection and my U.S.RDA of 6hrs per day of net surfing. Also my Z part sales have been slowed down as well. Hopefully I will be back up to speed within a week or two. I have been getting a lot of emails lately about injectors as it seems there is a shortage of them in the US. I can still get Nismo 555/740, Apexi 555, and Border 550/850's at killer prices.

NEways, as the great Homer Simpson would say, 9000rpm...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.......
